Midday Music – the Tuesday Series offers a live-streamed lunchtime concert every week, and numbers are growing nicely. Ensemble Reza managing director Hannah Carter said: “In just over three weeks we have had over 2.5k viewers and over 300 subscribers to our YouTube channel. “During the concert I am able to communicate with our audience through our live chat and know people of all ages including children are listening all over the country from Cornwall to Scotland and as far as France! We have had some lovely feedback and know our welcoming and friendly series is brightening up people’s lives. “We are really fortunate that so many from the Ensemble Reza team are couples and even have talented children who have also been involved in the series! We have funding for a further 12 weeks of concerts and hope to extend this if possible. To be honest I am keen to continue live streaming all our concerts in the future! “We really value reaching those who may feel isolated and also staying in touch with our local audience and friends. Like I mentioned, we are lucky that some of our musicians are married to professional musicians so we can have duets very easily from the same home! In a few cases whole families (eg the Carvalhos) have all been involved! “So far in the last four weeks we have had music from the Carvalhos (weeks 1 and 4); Miriam Teppich – violin (week 2); and Susana Dias and Tom Watmough – bassoon and clarinet (week 3)” “Our musicians are currently filming to our YouTube channel live from their laptops. We invite our audience to log on to our channel at 11.50 and I can chat to our audience in the comments section. “The sound quality is not amazing. However until we have 1,000 subscribers we are having to use our laptops to film. Once we have 1,000 subscribers, we will be able to record using our mobile phones and the sound will be much better. “The series is supported from Tim French from It’s Magic, The Orchards Shopping Centre and Savills Haywards Heath. The concerts are free. However we are inviting those who listen to donate to the series if they wish.” Shakespeare’s Globe makes productions available to watch for free during lockdown How you can still enjoy Sussex delights... from the safety of your armchair Up close but safe: enjoy collections online at Royal Pavilion & Museums in Brighton Chichester orchestra records its own lockdown song Coronavirus: top ten tips for boredom-busting during quarantine Sussex's future stars switch to online drama fun Singer and pianist Joe Stilgoe live-streams daily message of hope during the coronavirus crisis Music "more important than ever" in our time of crisis, urges West Sussex Music Coronavirus: live streaming for Sunday morning services at Chichester Cathedral Coronavirus: Festival of Chichester 2020 cancelled ************* A message from the Editor, Gary Shipton: In order for us to continue to provide high quality and trusted local news, I am asking you to please purchase a copy of our newspapers.
