The East Dean Players will be tackling the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery from until April 26.
The group says that if rehearsals are any indication, the audience are in for an evening of riotous fun.

Cheryl Veitch plays no less than six parts, with Marilynne Sharpin, Susan Everest, Jenny Lawrenson and Derek Drury playing between two and fiv
e parts each.

The four ladies of the FAHETGDS are a force to be reckoned with. The sheer scale of their ambition in mounting Murder at Checkmate Manor is only matched by their overwhelming confidence in their abilities to master all 14 parts.

Even though Gordon, their stage manager, nobly steps into the breach at the last minute, their production is blighted by a series of disasters.

The curse of am-dram strikes – problems with the set, sound effects and cues beset the production.

Through this adversity the ladies soldier on, determined to provide a good evening out for their audience, but reveal more about the relationships between themselves than the plot.

The play runs from April 24-26 at 7.45pm in East Dean village hall. Doors open at 7.15pm.
