A DONKEY derby event raised more than £800 for the Quicken Trust at the weekend.
The Square Youth Cafe, a group for 11 to 18-year-olds in the Hailsham area, organised stalls, cakes, and a donkey derby at Maurice Thornton Playing Field.
The donkeys and their riders came from the Little Cophall Riding Stables and donkey rides were available.
Andy Joyes, project co-ordinator, said, "It was a good community event and it was packed.
"Everybody enjoyed themselves and the weather stayed fine."
Around £840 was raised for the Quicken Trust – a charity for Ugandan people.
