A less than capital design

In last week's Herald you requested a response to the logo for the new cultural centre to be known as The Towner.
I am all in favour of the title but don't think much of the 'fun' logo. If the building is to be known as The Towner with a capital 'T' why does the logo spell it with a small letter 't'? If the name is to acknowledge the former Towner Art Gallery in Old Town, which relates to the distinguished Towner family, why not use a capital letter as used in all family and place names? It would be much more complementary, impressive and memorable. Eastbourne with a capital 'E' has a heritage related to other distinguished family names... Cavendish, Devonshire, Gildredge and Gilbert, etc, would it now be more 'fun' to spell all their related streets and place names with small unimpressive undistinguished letters?
Does the London-based Together Design and its creative artists use small letters to promote their names and business? The actual design of the small letter 't' looks more like a Christian symbol. Would a visitor really recognise the "towner" logo as a 'fun' symbol for a cultural centre?
