Unwise use of funds
Published Date:

The ability of politicians to so freely spend anyone else's money and be truly creative with their accounting explanations never ceases to amaze me.
Councillor Tutt calmly tells us that charging for Airbourne "did not work out this year" and that the 'shortfall' of £360,000 added to the almost £200,000 that will be spent on
consultants, and a refurbished room for council meetings, will be taken from the Strategic Change Fund and thus there will not be an increase in council tax.
If, as Councillor Tutt says, the council has been so 'successful in other areas', the monies generated should be used to cut council tax and not be used to cover incompetent decisions or fund
unnecessary expenditure. Council tax payers look for value for money and the provision of services they need, not profligate spending and the provision of jobs and services that are not required.
