The accident between the Hilux pick-up and the empty fuel tanker happened on Amberley Road, Storrington, at 8.35pm yesterday. The woman driver died from her injuries at hospital while her passenger was seriously injured in the impact and is being treated at Worthing Hospital. The driver of the tanker suffered minor injuries. The road was closed for five hours while Sussex Police dealt with the scene. The fuel tanker was empty so there was no fuel spillage.
