Builder to stand trial over summer robberies
Liam Newman, 30, of no fixed address is accused of robbing Sompting Mini Market in Seadown Parade on August 13 and Ladbrokes betting shop in Rowlands Road in Worthing five days later.
Newman is set to appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 13, where he will also answer two charges of having a firearm or imitation firearm with intent, prosecutors say.

Hide AdA dedicated team of detectives led by Detective Inspector Alan Pack was assembled in September after police linked ten robberies in the Worthing area that took place in summer 2016.
The investigation, named Operation Zinger, has led to a number of individuals being arrested and bailed.
Police confirmed a 32-year-old man of no fixed address arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit all ten robberies has been bailed until April 11.
A 30-year-old woman from Littlehampton arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to robbery at Ladbrokes in Rowlands Road was bailed until yesterday.
