I was so pleased to see that Jade made a plea for the inclusion of an indoor athletics training facility similar to the ‘Tube’ when the new Leisure Centre is built at Broadbridge Heath. There are so many people who have cause to be grateful for this unique training area; not only medal winning athletes like Jade herself, but also much more humble sports and keep fit aficionados like me (a member of the 50+ Group) who have been able to take advantage of the Tube for a whole variety of different activities. We are all keen that we will be able to enjoy the same sort of facilities in the future and that Horsham District Council won’t ‘spoil the ship for a ha’porth of tar’. Let’s hope Jade’s success will influence the council’s planning for the new Leisure Centre and that her heartfelt plea will not fall on deaf ears. SHEILA WHITE Dorking Road, Warnham
