West Sussex County Council has issued a severe weather update for the county today (Wednesday, August 17).

The council has made an announcement this morning on its website, saying that heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected for the area, which could lead to flooding and disruption.

“The Met Office has issued an Amber warning of thunderstorm affecting West Sussex from 11am to 10pm,” said a WSCC spokesperson.
