George and Elsie Holdom had saved up £800 for their Majorca break but do not know if they will get their money back.
The Fairways Close residents, who booked through David Thomas Holidays in Lewes, were due to go abroad on June 3, but the travel a
gent wrote to customers saying he had ceased trading and they would be contacted by official receivers.
Mr Holdom said, "We had a holiday through the firm last year to the same place and we were going to go back to Majorca. Last year it was okay and we made an appointment to go on the same holiday and paid up the full amount.
"Towards the end of May we received a letter which said, due to circumstances beyond the firm's control, the holiday had been cancelled."
The 79-year-old is thought to be one of a number of people from Sussex who has been affected by the collapse.
Mr Holdom, who used to work as an industrial chemist for an oil company, said he also received a second letter stating official receivers would be in touch regarding a refund.
He added, "We saved up for this holiday and we won't be having one now.
"I feel we have been robbed."
David Thomas Holidays was unavailable for comment.
