TWO people have been arrested following reports of an armed robbery in Seaford today (Tuesday).
Police were called following reports of an incident at Barclays Bank in Broad Street at 3.47pm.

A man, believed to be armed with a gun, left the bank after obtaining cash and drove off in a van.

Firearms officers and the police helicopter were deployed and at 4.44pm two people - a man and woman - were arrested in Tesco car park, Lewes. Cash and a firearm have been recovered from a van.

Inspector Charlie Connaughton said, "No one was injured during either incident. We are appealing for witnesses to the robbery and anyone who may have seen a man waiting near the bank in Seaford before the robbery, or leaving the bank to get into the van afterwards, to contact police on 0845 60 70 999."
