Eastbourne Borough need to find a killer instinct in front of goal to end their five match winless streak, assistant boss Nick Greenwood has said.
Borough travel to Weymouth tomorrow (Saturday) aiming to record their first Blue Square Premier win since the 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers on September 2.
Greenwood told Herald Sport recent defeats to Torquay and Kidderminster underlined the need for a 'predatory' striker.
And with Viktor Illugason's unsuccessful one-month loan deal having expired and injury-prone Jean-Michel Sigere set to leave the club, Greenwood admitted he and boss Garry Wilson were looking to add to their striker roster.
Greenwood said, "We have seen that at this level the difference between teams is the quality in the penalty areas.
"In the last few games we have created quite a few chances but we're not putting enough away.
"At this level, of every four or five chances we create we have got to get one or two of them. We need a predatory goalscorer."
Wilson and Greenwood have been scouting players at matches this week but said they were not yet targeting individuals.
A decision on defender Pat Sappleton was due to be made after training last night (Thursday). The former Jamaican under-21 international scored in Tuesday night's 3-2 extra-time Setanta Shield win at Fisher Athletic.
Nathan Crabb (ankle) and Mo Harkin (thigh) both picked up knocks but are expected to be fit for the trip to Weymouth.
Tomorrow's match will be a chance for Borough to avenge last season's FA Cup first round defeat.
Borough had been the better side in the first half but conceded from a corner to sub Jefferson Louis's first touch and were then hit by a late hat-trick from Stuart Beavon as they chased the game.
Ex-Boro midfielder Anton Robinson will again captain the Terras, who are two points and four places ahead of Garry Wilson's side.
Weymouth started the season with three wins and a draw in their first four games but then went on a run of seven games without victory, including a 5-2 home mauling at the hands of Histon.
They ended that barren run last Saturday but needed a winner five minutes into injury time from transfer-listed James Coutts to see off struggling Northwich.
