Boss Brian Dennis believes the arrival of player-coach Tobi Hutchinson from East Grinstead will provide a huge boost to Eastbourne United AFC.
Dennis will be absent from the Oakwood clash tomorrow, as he is in Spain attending a function held in the memory of his late wife,
He said, "If we can get Tobi in on time, I'll be very pleased," he said. "He is very experienced and really is one of the best coaches in the county.
"With him and the rest of my coaching staff in charge, I can go away with my mind at ease."
Dennis is also confident ahead of his side's divison one match against Oakwood. Despite managing just one draw and one defeat at the Oval so far this season in the league.
United have won every league match away from home, but are struggling for form in front of their own supporters, their only win coming in the extra-time cup victory against Whitehawk.
Dennis said, "The boys are playing really well and we've got players coming back on the bench so the squad is very strong at the moment. The attitude is first class and our skill and technique are above average. We're getting to where I wanted to be when I first took over."
Dennis admitted the Oval's poor playing surface was a factor in terms of his team's indifferent performances but insisted that it is something the players must quickly get over.
"I think it's a mental thing," he said, "but I keep saying that other teams have to come here and play on it as well, so there is no excuse."
"We can go second if we win those games, just behind Ringmer, who are the only side to beat us - and they should never have won that game. But it's a marathon, not a sprint."
