Hailsham Town manager Kenny McCreadie is furious young striker Tristian Jarvis will not play at Arundel tomorrow.
Jarvis, 16, who scored for Hailsham against Arundel last year to earn the Stringers a point, has been told by Eastbourne Borough he cannot play Saturday football.

McCreadie said, "I have good relations with Eastbourne Borough but I have spoken to Garry Wilson on this because I don't understand this situation.

"I have a young lad who wants to play and progress but he can't. Tristian is good enough to play adult football and I believe it will help his development as a player if he does."

The Beaconsfield boss has been left frustrated as Eastbourne Borough reserve and youth team manager Shaun Harper refuses to allow players to represent Borough on a Sunday if they have played on a Saturday.

He added, "The last thing I want is to cause a rift with Kenny on this one but this is a rule I have put in place. If a player plays on Saturday then I believe a he will not be fit to play for Eastbourne Borough on a Sunday. The player does not even have 24 hours to recover.

"Young players want to play football all the time but sometimes you have to do what is best for them in order to stop them from burning out."

"Tristian is great young player and I can see why Kenny wants him. But I never twisted the lad's arm. I told him the situation and he made his decision to play for Borough under-18."

McCreadie will likely use Scott McDonald as alone striker at Arundel and play five across the midfield. Mark Reeve and Paul Richardson are both available.

McCreadie said, "Scott McDonald has been a breath of fresh air. We played him on his own up front against Worthing. He scored a cracking goal and his work rate was tremendous. Arundel are always a tough side and we will have to play well. They are difficult on their own patch but I have seen encouraging signs from my side."

McCreadie will be without Max Dyer who is on holiday before begining a three match suspension for his sending-off at Horsham YMCA.
