Eastbourne Rugby Club have been rocked by a two-point deduction after a costly administration error.
James Stevenson played for the first team at Sevenoaks in a London South East division three clash earlier this season but he was not registered.

Stevenson had previously played for the first team and was involved with the second team last season.

Head coach Rick Walshaw said, "It was a crazy situation. Because James came through the ranks of the club, everyone thought he was registered. It was an oversight and a very costly one."

Captain Matt Pysden summed up the mood. He added, "It's a disaster. It's hard enough getting the points in this league and to have them taken away is a nightmare."

Title favourites Old Elthamians visit Eastbourne tomorrow. The league-leaders have scored 120 points from their three games. Kick-off 3pm.
