Shock defeat for Eastbourne cricketers

Eastbourne Cricket Club suffered a shock 20-run defeat at the hands of Chichester Priory on Saturday
In a low scoring game, Tom Smith's team collapsed to 107 all out in response to Chi's 127.
The visitors must have been confident of victory as Ollie Ody (4-27) and Rageb Aga (3-31) ensured that home wickets fell at regular intervals.
Only Jes Goode (47) and David Leaver (26) really got among the runs.
Ollie Rayner, Tom Smith and Richard Smith took a wicket apiece.
The Chi total was hardly a formidable one, but apart from Stuart Faith (42), Rayner (20) and Aga (16), the Eastbourne batters failed miserably.
Steve Sedgley (4-23), James Stedman (3-18) and Garry Austerberry (2-47) did the damage for the hosts.
After two wins and a draw in their previous three games, it was a bitterly disappointing result for Eastbourne and a major setback to their Sussex Premier League title hopes.
