Borough bosses hope new signing Chris Winterton will provide stiff competition for regular goalkeeper Lee Hook.
Borough beat Sussex rivals Lewes to the highly rated 19-year-old and the head coach insists the new stopper will be given every opportunity to establish himself in the first team.

Greenwood said, "Lee Hook has not had serious competition for his place and we felt at this level every player needs that.

"Chris has been training with us and he chose to come here instead of Lewes."

Winterton agreed a one-year contract with Brighton in May, 2007 having represented the reserves and the youth team.

Last year he gained experience on loan at Horsham YMCA and Burgess Hill but was released from Brighton in May.
