Robertsbridge Bonfire Society overcame a few set-backs to stage one of the most successful bonfire celebrations the village has seen.

Heavy rain resulted in a sodden recreation ground and the Society made a contingency decision not to allow the public onto the actual field.

Further problems were caused by engineering work resulting in no trains to and from Robertsbridge,
