Brighton v Huddersfield: Here's what Chris Hughton said in his pre-match press conference

What's the team news? "Pascal (Gross) will miss the game. He felt his hamstring, it's not too bad we think but this game has come around too early. "He will miss it and (Leon) Balogun is still out but everybody else is fit and available." How concerned are you with the recent run after just two points from seven games and now just two points above the relegation zone? "I have to be concerned because the league table speaks for itself and the form as regards points speaks for itself. "For where we are and the level of performance, a lot of the games have been close and even on the back of the Leicester game in midweek I thought the performance was good and on another occasion I think we get something from the game. "Probably with all of them factors, it always makes us optimistic and not too down. We are also very conscious we are the level of club that are going to go through some difficulties through a season. "Probably up until four games ago, we'd done okay. It's a difficult period for us but it's a time where you need to hold your nerve. "We have home games against teams that are around us and there isn't anyone here who won't be positive about performances and getting results." Can not winning games become a habit? "Of course it can but our responsibility is to go game to game and to assess and try to make the changes that you need to change your fortunes. "I think I would be more concerned if we weren't creating chances or if we weren't in the game or if our level of performance was poor. "It's a difficult period we are going through. We accept that and we also know the only way to get out of it is by getting results and sometimes that might be the type of game we had midweek where them margins for us as opposed to going against us." Are you tempted to change things? "We're always changing, you change personnel, you change systems. I think it's normal and that's not just about not doing so well. "In periods where we might have done well, you still look to freshen things up and change things. "It's a normal period of time you go through and any adjustments you make. "What is vitally important is we realise where we are and nobody here is panicking. "What will get us through this situation is to do what we do best. That's what got us into this division, that's what kept us in this division and it's only this group of lads which will do that." Brighton are the only club in the League not to win a league game in 2019. Is Huddersfield at home the perfect opportunity to get a win? "The stats and figures don't lie, we are very conscious of that. "The best opportunity we have is the very next one. "Our last one was a game away at Leicester where we were close in the game and on the balances of which way it could have gone, it could have gone either way. I thought the performance was good enough but it wasn't to be there. "This is out next best opportunity. "Whoever the opposition was, I'd prefer that opportunity to be at home." What would a win do for morale and confidence moving forward? "For us, every win in this division seems like a big win. "At this stage of the season and the run we have been on, this opportunity we have on Saturday for us to win it would feel like a real big win. "We're not looking to shy away from where we are and the form we're in at the moment. "Yes, it would be a big win for us but even at the start of the season there would have been a group of games that you knew you had more chance in than others. "Some of them would have been the home games. We still have to play four of the teams around us at home and the results we get in those games will determine how well we do this season." What mindset will Huddersfield be in after ending their long winless run in midweek? "They will certainly be in good form as a group. "The bigger clubs win regularly so I suppose for them its defeats which are the ones which are unusual feelings they have in the camp. "For half of the division, every win is a big win. For Huddersfield particlarly with the season they've had so far, to get the win there will be a nice feel and they will certainly be very motivated on Saturday." Does it feel like one of the biggest games you've had in the Premier League? "Probably yes but I'll probably say that the next game and the one after that. "We also have to remember we played Manchester United at home towards the end of last season, there were two games to go after that and that secured our Premier League status. "Is there anything bigger than that? They are all big games. I'm quite sure after this one, the next one away to Palace will be equally as big." How many points do you think you'll need to stay up? "I keep away from that. I've heard one manager quote 38 points. "I always have this figure of 40 points because if it ends up less than that you are mentally better thinking you are going to need more than less but I don't know." Florin Andone is back from suspension. How much of a different dimension does he bring? "We know the type of player he is and the reason we brought him in was predominantly because he is different to what we already have. "We've missed him and it's pleasing to have him back." Have you been surprised with the challenges Huddersfield have had this season? "Nothing surprises me because for any team that comes into this division it's very difficult. "You're up against teams that have spent far more money and have got far more experience, so I don't think it's any surprise when a team comes up and finds it difficult. "I thought they were brilliant towards the end of last season. They were the moments they needed with the quality and character they've got in the squad. "For where they are at the minute, they will need that again. You an never write off anybody in this game. "They are on the back of a really good result and they will be lifted by that. They finished very well last season and they'll be looking to do the same again." HAVE YOU READ?
